Glycerin & how it works
Glycerin is a non-toxic, food-grade gel commonly used in food and personal care products. When frozen, it cools smoke more efficiently than water.
As smoke winds through the spiral coil, the chilled glycerin around it cools every pull before it reaches you. Unlike water, glycerin doesn't expand when it freezes, so the pipe can live in your freezer between sessions.
Cleaning & care
Cleans just like a traditional piece.
- Rinse after each session and let it dry 20 to 30 minutes before it goes back in the freezer.
- For a deeper clean, add isopropyl alcohol (91% or higher) and coarse salt, plug the openings and shake.
- Let it soak 10 to 15 minutes if needed, then rinse with room-temperature water.

How long does it take to freeze?
About an hour. Glycerin doesn't expand when it freezes, so your pipe can live in the freezer between sessions, ready whenever you are.
How long does it stay cold?
Long enough for a relaxed session. Room temperature, warm hands and how often you pull all play a part. For long sessions, pop it back in the freezer between bowls. Plenty of owners say it still pulls smooth as it warms up.
Will it really feel smoother than my pipe?
That's the question we hear most. Smoke travels through a coil surrounded by freezable glycerin and comes out up to 300° cooler, which means smoother pulls and less coughing. For the best result, take slow, easy pulls and let the coil do the work.
What's the difference between the Spiral, the Kit and the DNA?
- Spiral: the original hand pipe with a removable honeycomb bowl.
